Photos of a parapet wall with lots of chimney pots being dressed
with EPDM single ply rubber
This
gives an idea as to what we were up against. Our specification for this new
flat roof was to strip the old roof, apply insulation and
re-roof using EPDM rubber. Just what we were going to do with the
parapet walls and chimneys was always going to be up for debate and, as
part of the pricing, we had discussed that a Provisional Costs (PC)
sum should be
put to one side to deal with the renovation of this area.
As
the insulation went down and the EPDM roof covering was laid, it
was worked out that we could easily lap up the parapet wall and dress
around the chimney pots.
So,
as you can see the upstands to the parapet wall were made, and the
EPDM single ply was cut in around each pot.
Time
was taken to dress the EPDM rubber around the posts, making the
actual sealing to each pot neater as an end result.
As
you can see here, a superb end result. It was a nice
watertight job, neat, tidy and a good solution to a difficult problem.
